Blog resurrection

So, a whole lot of life happened.

I changed jobs. I founded a film review site with a friend. I started university. The usual stuff that makes one forget they really did mean to blog more regularly.

My University course is Creative Writing – so from now on, the (sporadic) blog posts will likely be a means to share my work with the world, both assigned work tasks and additional writing, as well as general “life at my university”-style posts and my thoughts on the creative process.

It seemed appropriately spooky to necromance this blog with Halloween fast approaching. Happy October, readers. See you round sometime!

I’m Tom, I’m 30 and I’m a Creative Writing graduate. I currently work as Head of Communications for a global IT services company. I mostly read & write Science-fiction, Fantasy or somewhere between the two: I occasionally dip into horror, but not so much I keep myself up at night! During my university course I rediscovered my passion for writing and gained a new appreciation for other forms such as short stories/ flash fiction, screenwriting and poetry. My biggest literary influences are probably Douglas Adams, Philip K. Dick and Brandon Sanderson. I also enjoy films; I ran a review site with a friend for a few years and try and keep a toe dipped into movie criticism as much as I can.
